Cannes I make what?!!!
When an email comes in asking if you can make a cake for DreamWorks, you have to pinch yourself! Or at least do a little dance round your living room...

A few weeks ago I was flown over to beautiful Cannes in the South of France, to create this event cake for DreamWorks at the MIP Junior closing night party!
The Carlton Hotel in Cannes very generously opened their kitchen to me and in just 5 hours I transformed a 4-tier blank canvas into a bright and colourful celebration of 5 years of DreamWorks TV.

Making the sugar figures in advance back home, I transported them carefully with me, with the rest of the assembling, airbrushing, hand painting and smaller detail modelling all done on site. Using my favourite Cake Dutchess modelling paste really helped with transporting - amazingly everything arrived safely with only a couple of very minor fixes of the finest details.
I also took my Clairella Cakes airbrush with me which proved invaluable, as a quick way to transform the background, adding depth and colour. Believe me when I say 5 hours just disappears when you are cake decorating!

Thankfully I had the lovely Gwen and David to provide the four-tier basic cake, and assist with mixing sugarpaste, holding pieces in place and just generally being awesome team mates!! HUGE thanks to my new French friends!
Definitely one of my top cake deliveries to date! So much fun and a great experience making new friends along the way. I had the pleasure of working with an amazing team, who all looked after me so well! Huge thanks to:

My amazing friend Jacqui for believing in me enough to recommend me for this fantastic commission xx
